Illinois Medicare SupplementsWe offer quotes from Aetna, Anthem, Assured Life, American Continental, American Republic, Bankers Fidelity, Gerber Life, Loyal American, Mutual of Omaha – United World, United of Omaha, United Teachers Association, and United Healthcare AARP among others.

In Illinois, Plans C, F, and G are most popular. Plan F fills in all gaps in Medicare coverage and is affordable with several carriers.

We also offer Plan N on a limited underwriting basis.  If you wish to lower your monthly premiums, but have been turned down in the past because of health concerns, then Plan N might be a suitable option.

While it does involve more cost sharing, Plan N still covers most major gaps in original Medicare and is very affordable when compared to older coverage options.

Additionally, we offer high deductible Plan F and network affiliated (Select) supplemental policies. High deductible and network plans will be less expensive on a monthly basis than traditional coverage.

Illinois Medicare Open Enrollment

Medicare provides a six month open enrollment window when you turn age 65. You cannot be denied Medigap coverage during this time and you are eligible to enroll in any plan of your choice. There are no health questions to answer or medical underwriting issues.

Other guaranteed issue or qualifying events include loss of employer sponsored coverage, dis-enrollment from a Medicare Advantage plan within one year, or if you have moved to a new service area that does not support your current coverage.

Medicare Disability Under Age 65

As of June 2008, if you are accepted into Medicare disability in Illinois, you have the same open enrollment rights as those age 65. This is a six month window of time where you can enroll in the supplemental coverage of your choice.

Rates will vary between companies, so it is best to view quotes from several carriers. If you miss your open enrollment period, then underwriting will take place and you can be denied coverage due to poor health.

All Medicare supplement plans are guaranteed renewable. A carrier cannot cancel your coverage unless premiums are not paid on time.  Yearly rates will increase depending on the type of policy selected.

Attained age plans will increase with each birthday of the insured while issue age (community rated) plans will increase based on claims experience of the insurance provider.  Issue age policies are usually more expensive at onset.
