We offer Tennessee Medicare supplement insurance quotes from several carriers. If you are near age 65, losing group coverage, losing Medicaid, or under age 65 and eligible due to disability – we can help.
Our relationship with multiple carriers allows us to provide Medigap rates direct to you. With us, you’re contacting all companies at once with no hassles. We will provide rates and renewals with all side by side.
We represent highly-rated and affordable Medicare supplement providers in Tennessee, including Aetna, AllstateAnthem, American Continental, Central States Indemnity, Combined, Heartland National, Manhattan Life, Medico, Mutual of Omaha, United American, United Healthcare AARP, Western United Life, and many others.
The Medicare supplement marketplace is very competitive. Several new carriers enter the market each year. We keep track of all new offerings so our clients know who has the lowest rates.
There are ten modernized insurance plans to choose from: A, B, C, D, F, G, K, L, M, and N. Plans F, G, and N are very popular as they offer the most comprehensive coverage and fill in the most common gaps in Medicare Parts A and B.
Plans K, L, M, and N are cost-sharing plans and require the insured to cover more out-of-pocket expenses. However, monthly premiums will be noticeably lower for these four plans as compared to most others.
And if you are new to Medicare in 2020 or after, then Plans F, C, and High Deductible F are unavailable for purchase due to new rules. Your next best options are Plans G, N, D, and High Deductible Plan G.
A handful of Medicare supplement insurance providers offer High Deductible Plans G and F. The deductible for 2023 is $3,470. Rates with these High Deductible Supplements are affordable and compare favorably with Medicare Advantage plans. In some areas, rates can be near $40 a month for this coverage.
Consumers in TN who are eligible for Medicare due to disability and who are under age 65 can purchase a Medicare supplement insurance policy. This rule allows for a six-month open enrollment period for those who have been accepted into Medicare disability and whose Part B is soon (or already) effective.
It’s a good idea for all Tennessee residents who are new to disability and without supplemental coverage to inquire about their options. After the initial six-month open enrollment window has closed, medical underwriting will be required for most applicants. Rates can vary dramatically between insurance providers and will be more for those under 65.
Medicare Advantage plans are also an option for those eligible for Medicare due to disability. These plans privately cover the benefits provided by Original Medicare Parts A and B while including Part D drug coverage and some additional benefits. These low-cost plans can be a reasonable alternative when supplemental rates are too expensive.
All Medicare supplement insurance policies are “guaranteed renewable.” This means as long as you pay your premiums on time, the insurance company cannot cancel your coverage for any reason. There is no maximum or lifetime limit to the amount of benefits you can receive from your policy.
However, supplement providers will raise your rates from year to year – some more than others. Future rate increases are difficult to predict with an individual carrier and can vary dramatically. We do have historical rate increase data on many companies.
If you are in reasonably good health, you may be able to switch carriers if your rates had increased. It’s also worth noting that some carriers require less underwriting than others. If you have been turned down by one insurance company, there may be another that will accept your application.
We work with AARP United Healthcare, Humana, Silverscript, Wellcare, Anthem BCBS, and others to offer Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage. Prescription copays and total out-of-pocket costs will vary depending on your prescribed medications. Wellcare offers a very low-cost option for those on few prescriptions or only generics.
Part D approved medications can be filled by mail order or from a preferred local pharmacy – it’s your choice. We will be happy to help you find a prescription drug plan tailored to meet your needs and budget.
One size does not fit all with Part D drug plans in Tennessee. Your most affordable options will depend on what you take. It can be wise to purchase a more expensive policy in order to have lower copays. In other words, you will pay less overall by purchasing a more comprehensive plan.
And remember this is just one piece of the puzzle. If you want a Medicare supplement and drug plan, then you’ll need to purchase them separately.
We provide Medicare supplement insurance in all of Tennessee – including Nashville, Memphis, Knoxville and everywhere in between. We will help you compare the direct supplemental rates from several companies side by side. Contact us today!
